Here are more of the designs Kessels did for the Hans Brinker Hotel, the first are a series of images where it compares a photo of someone at check-in to a few days later at check-out, and they are tired, messy, sometimes black eyes or lovebites. It's advertising to a certain area of the market, but for that certain area, it works really well because it looks like the sort of place they are looking for. There was then a series of adverts stating that the Hans Brinker was eco-friendly; the first poster shows someone washing themselves in a sink and the tag line is 'eco-friendly showers'. The next poster again is trying to say that the hotel is being eco-friendly because it only has one light illuminated on it's sign. I like the two last two images on this page too, as again they follow the same alternative style of advertising. In this campaign the tagline was 'it can't get any worse, but we'll do our best' which always feature above a before and after image of something in the Hotel. In this case it is cigarette butts on the floor, and then you see the carpet has just been removed; or a window with a view directly at a brick wall, and they have just closed the blinds. I love this clever, innovative way of advertising that isn't lying about the product/client at all, but is being very blunt and truthful.
