With the set at the top I experimented with using elements of the 'J' to create the crossbar of the 'J', which is similar to the handwritten styled forms I previously did. I don't think any of these worked particularly well, but it was worth experimenting with. I then moved on to trying to include one of the letters inside the other, which I thought looked good visually, but I think you lost the order of the initials, which defeats the object of the task.
